Vido Rhodes is Production Director for Lone Star Ballet and Lone Star Dance Academy, which includes the Season of Dance, all educational and entertaining outreach performances, and all Academy productions. Rhodes also runs and maintains our production company Lone Star Productions.
He has been active behind the scenes for over ten years involved in the design of a particular show, building sets and props, working with the lighting director to get the "right effect," and researching and obtaining sets and backdrops. He works in conjunction with individual choreographers and visiting performing companies to set the stage to reflect their artistic vision. His theatre venues include the Civic Center Theatre, The Globe News Center for the Performing Arts, The Fair Theater in Plainview and the stage at Sam Houston Park for the Summer Intensive's "Performance in the Park" series. His influence is most recently seen in ACADEMY UNLEASHED, the academy performances, CLEOPATRA, RAINFOREST, OKLAHOMA CITY BALLET, LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW, THE NUTCRACKER ANUALLY, SLEEPING BEAUTY, NICHOLAS ANDRE DANCE CO, JEKYLL AND HYDE, TRILOGY, BALLET WEST II, DRACULA, TIMESTEPS; ROCK OF THE AGES, MOMIX, CINDERELLA, GISELLE, and ODYSSEY - the opening production of the Globe News Center for the Performing Arts.
On Sundays, you can find Rhodes as production director at his church Rhodes is a native of Chicago, IL, lived in Phoenix, AZ and then relocated to live in Amarillo. He has two daughters one still dancing with Lone Star Ballet and Lone Star Dance Academy, the second is at a school in Lubbock.
